Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026 · Effective date: September 20, 2026 · FromTheClip at https://fromtheclip.com

Important. FromTheClip is a playable, AI-generated entertainment product. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploads to train our own models, and we do not reuse your clips as starting material for other users’ stories. Questions: support@fivetoclose.cloud.

FiveToClose (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates FromTheClip at https://fromtheclip.com (the “Service”). FromTheClip is a product of FiveToClose. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit the site, confirm an email, upload a clip or still, play a story, or buy scene credits.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy together with our Terms of Service and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Product: FromTheClip
Entity / brand: FiveToClose
Website: https://fromtheclip.com
Support email: support@fivetoclose.cloud

For privacy requests (access, correction, deletion where applicable), email support@fivetoclose.cloud with the subject line “Privacy Request” and the email address on your account.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Google account and email

The primary way to create an account is Google sign-in (OAuth). When you continue with Google we receive the email address, name, unique Google subject identifier, and verification status Google authorizes for the scopes we request (openid, email, profile). We do not receive or store your Google password. We store that Google identifier with your FromTheClip account so your clips, scene history, and credits stay on that login.

You may also sign in with an email address and a one-time verification code we send you. We store that email, verification timestamps, session data, credit balance, and a list of your stories. We do not require a password. The session cookie named ftc_session keeps you signed in.

2.2 Uploads and premises

When you start a story you may provide:

You keep your rights to your uploads. We use them only to run your story: extract frames, lock character appearance, generate the next scene, and show the result back to you. We do not put your upload into another user’s story. We do not use your upload to train FiveToClose models.

2.3 Generated stories

We store story records, scene status, choice text, character-lock notes, posters, video URLs, timestamps, and credits reserved, charged, or restored. Generated scenes are AI-generated entertainment. They are associated with your account so you can resume.

2.4 Payments

Scene packs are sold as one-time purchases through Stripe Checkout. We do not store full card numbers, CVV, or bank account numbers on our servers. Stripe may provide us with checkout session status, customer and payment IDs, amount, pack type, coupon code (if any), billing email, and limited card metadata (for example last four digits) needed to add credits to your account. Stripe processes payment data under its own privacy policy and PCI standards.

2.5 Technical and log data

We automatically collect standard technical data such as IP address, user agent, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP, referrer, pages requested, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies for signed sessions, Google OAuth state, security, and basic service operation.

2.6 Communications

If you email support@fivetoclose.cloud, we collect the content of your message and any contact details you include so we can respond. We may also send transactional mail: verification codes, receipts, and service notices.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your clips.

4. Artificial intelligence processing

To generate scenes, we send your upload (or extracted frames), premise, character-lock notes, and choice context to third-party AI providers (including xAI) solely to run your request. FiveToClose does not use your uploads or generated scenes to train our own models. We do not reuse your uploads as opening material for other users.

Provider training and retention policies are governed by those providers’ terms. Do not upload material you are not allowed to process, and do not upload secrets or other people’s private data. AI output is entertainment, not a factual record of a real person.

5. Your rights in your uploads

You retain whatever intellectual-property rights you already have in files you upload and in premises you write. You grant FiveToClose a limited license to store, transcode, extract frames from, analyze, and generate derivative scenes from that material only as needed to operate your story on FromTheClip. That license is not a license to other users. It is not a training-data grant to FiveToClose.

You represent that you have the rights needed to upload the file (original work, license, or other lawful basis) and that it is not a celebrity likeness or a real-person deepfake you do not have rights to. See the Terms.

6. How we share information

We share data only as needed to run the Service:

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your clips with other FromTheClip users as their starting material.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use:

You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking the session cookie will prevent sign-in and story play.

8. Credits, reservation, charge, restore

Scene credits are prepaid units of generation, not cash. They never expire while the Service operates. When you pick a door we may reserve one credit, charge it when generation succeeds, and restore it if generation fails. Pack purchases add credits to the email account that is signed in at checkout. We keep billing and credit-ledger records as needed for fraud, disputes, and accounting.

9. Data retention

We retain account, story, media, and credit records while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for billing, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You may request deletion by emailing support@fivetoclose.cloud. We may retain limited records where we must (tax, fraud prevention, legal holds). After deletion, residual backups may persist for a limited period before purge.

10. Security

We use HTTPS and an HttpOnly session cookie where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for control of the email inbox used to request codes. If you believe your account is compromised, email support@fivetoclose.cloud immediately.

11. International transfers

The Service may be hosted and processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data-protection laws than your own.

12. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal data, or to object to certain uses. To exercise rights, contact support@fivetoclose.cloud. We may need to verify your identity (for example, control of the account email).

13. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and you must be 18 to agree to the Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

14. Third-party sites and services

Google (sign-in), Stripe (checkout), AI generation, email delivery, and hosting are provided by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may be highlighted on the site or via email when appropriate. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised policy.
